Does eventually everything connect?

Does eventually everything connect?

In 11.22.63 novel (was written by Stephen King) Jake accidentally discovers a portal that can send him into the past in 1958. He realizes that he can change history. He wanted to stop the assassination of John F Kennedy. And he successfully did that. He expected that the world will be a good place when he goes back to the present. But it doesn’t happen. In present his home is destroyed by the earthquake and world war 3 was happening. He realizes that he made a big mistake he goes back in time and he again reset the history. This story tells us how everything in this world connected. How a small change by Jake in the past can have a bigger consequence in the present.

Edward Lorenz was a meteorologist. In the 1950s he was found to predict the weather effectively. He made an experiment in which he can predicting weather in an effective way. He takes a value which is 0.506 in an initial condition and after that, he uses a value of 0.506127. The results were very different and surprising.

When Lorenz put these values in the graph results were very different just due to a very small error. He posed a question: “Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?” That means that your small change can have a big impact on the future. This is called ‘The Butterfly Effect’.

Real-life example of butterfly effects:

  1. Initially, the US wants to drop the atomic bomb on Kokura, Japan But due to the cloudy sky, they decide to drop the bomb on Nagasaki.
  2. In the 1890s Hitler applied for an art school but rejected it by a Jewish professor. If he didn’t get rejected maybe he can be an artist. Or didn’t develop hate for Jewish people.

Moral: A very small change in your life can have a big impact in the future not just for you but for everyone whether directly or indirectly. So, think wisely and act wisely.
