4.5 billion years ago a young planet veers into the earth orbit. The small planet about the size of mars collides with the earth and smashing together into one molten mass. That small planet was Theia.
Due to that collision, the earth tilted 23.5°. And we get our seasonal pattern. Without theia collision earth tilt was 45° we might not even have seasons. Without season it could be very difficult for life on earth.
Gravity brings the Gravity brings the debris together result in the formation of two moons which after some years merged to form one moon which we see today.
Theia hit earth into the center of the earth and became the earth’s core.
A day has not always been 24 hours long. Before the collision, it was 5 hr. which means earth spin very fast on its axis.
